BUENOS AIRES (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - Nayla Kraft has replaced injury victim Macarena Rosset in Argentina's squad for the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.

Kraft, a Lanus guard, was selected by national team coach Eduardo Pinto.

"It's a strange feeling,” she said.

“On the one hand, I am sad for what happened to Macarena and on the other, I am happy to have been considered by the coach."

After Argentina’s three games against the French, the Czech Republic and Russia in a recent friendly tournament in France, Rosset lost her footing and fell to the ground.

Doctors examined the player’s knee and determined that she had ruptured a knee ligament.

Rosset is one of the country’s most promising players and was especially important for this team because of her offense.

"The truth is that Macarena's loss is a huge blow to the team,” Kraft said.

“I know the team and I am going to give everything for my country."

Argentina are also going into the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women without Rocio Rojas, who has a ligament injury in her left leg.

At the event in Bangkok, Argentina will play in Group A with France, Australia and Korea.

Their first game is against the Aussies on July 23.
