PARANA (Liga Nacional) - Juventud Sionista upset Liga Nacional leaders Penarol 79-64 to boost their bid for a place in the play-offs. The home side are now fifth in the standings, with the top eight securing places in the post-season. Trailing 22-20 after the first quarter, the hosts outscored Penarol 21-8 in the second period for a 43-28 lead and though the visitors chipped away at the deficit after half-time, Juventud held on. Mariano Byro and Alejandro Zilli each poured in 18 points for the victors, with Michael Robinson scoring nine and pulling down seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Deportivo Madryn slipped up at home, losing 91-80 to Boca Juniors.
Boca edged into a 37-35 lead at half-time and then outscored Madryn 29-18 in the third quarter to take command for good.
Argentina international Leonardo Gutierrez had 25 points and five rebounds for the winners, while Boca got a boost on the perimeter from Gustavo Orona, who was three of four from three-point range and finished with 17 points.
Boca’s Martin Leiva had nine rebounds to go with his seven points.
