BUENOS AIRES (ACB) - Argentina point guard Pablo Prigioni is to have an operation on his broken finger on Thursday.
Prigioni suffered the injury in practice earlier this week and will be out of action for up to two months.
A statement on the Real Madrid website said: “Pablo Prigioni will have surgery on Thursday afternoon.
“A surgical plaque will be placed in his right hand to stabilize the fracture on the fourth metacarpal bone.
“The operation will be conducted by Dr. Ferro, member of Sanitas La Zarzuela Hospital's traumatology department.”
Prigioni played for Argentina at the FIBA World Championship in Turkey in August and September and helped the team beat Brazil in the Eight-Finals.
However, Argentina were hammered by Lithuania in their next game and ended up finishing in fifth place after beating Russia and Spain in Classification Round games.
