BUENOS AIRES (FIBA U19 World Championship) - Shooting guard Nicolas de los Santos believes the lack of height among his Argentina team-mates won't stop them standing tall at the FIBA U19 World Championship.

The Argentinians, who line up alongside South Korea, Spain and Puerto Rico in Group D, will be one of the shortest sides competing when the event tips off in Novi Sad on Thursday.

But De los Santos, a winner of the South American Championship for Cadets in 2004 and Youth in 2005, believes his side's experience and attitude will make up the difference.

"We don't count on tall players as other nations have, but our centres are used to playing against them and have attitude," he told Ole newspaper.

"It is a quite difficult pool, but we are confident on playing an important role in the tournament.

"To represent our country is a dream everybody here wants to make come true. I hope to climb up to the podium at least, or be champions.

"We have to profit from this beautiful moment we are living because representing your country is the best thing you can ever live."
