MAR DEL PLATA (Interleague Tournament ) - Peñarol Mar del Plata reached the Interleague Tournament final by beating Franca 88-73 at Polideportivo Islas Malvinas. Atenas defeated Minas Tenis 96-89 to finish third in Group B.
In the win by Peñarol, Sebastián Rodríguez scored 22 points and Leo Gutiérrez 14. Facundo Campazzo was key from the bench with 17 points.
Franca won the first quarter 26-20 but the hosts reacted with a strong defense and the half ended tied at 41. Pearol had a better offensive performance in the third quarter and took a 66-61 lead at the end.
In the final quarter Tato Rodríguez along with Campazzo where key in order to dominate the final minutes.
In a losing effort Helinho netted 22 points.
Meanwhile in the win by Atenas, Cristian Romero scored 25 points and Albert White 19. Minas had William Drudi with 20 and Facundo Sucatzky 18.
The final will be played on Thursday in Mar del Plata against Universo/BRB.
