BUENOS AIRES (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Head coach Sergio Hernandez announced the 12 players that will represent Argentina in the 2010 FIBA World Championship that starts on August 28 in Turkey.
The national team continues their warm-up series in Spain starting on August 15.
The 12 finalists are:
PG: Pablo Prigioni and Juan Pablo Cantero
SG: Carlos Delfino and Paolo Quinteros
SF: Andres Nocioni, Hernan Jasen and Federico Kammerichs
PF: Luis Scola and Leonardo Gutierrez
C: Fabricio Oberto, Juan Gutiérrez and Roman Gonzalez
In the International Tournament, to be played in Spain, they open on August 15 against the host and then play Brazil the next day.
Their next warm-up tournament is the Efes Pilsen World Cup in Ankara where they play against Canada (August 21), Lebanon (August 22) and on the 23 against Turkey. Andres Nocioni is expected to play for the Argentinean team in this tournament.
Finally they will tip things off in the 2010 FIBA World Championship starting on August 28 in Kayseri as part of Group A which also includes Australia, Angola, Germany, Jordan and Serbia.
