    Lisbon (2009 Afrobasket) - The national men team of Angola has already arrived in Milan (Italy) to play from July 28 to 29 against their counterparts of Turkey and Canada, in the framework of their preparation for the 25th FIBA Africa Nations Championship for men "Afrobasket'2009".

    ANGOP learnt of the presence of the national team in Italy from the vice president of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Dinho Bendrau, who is leading the delegation.

    He referred that the Turkey and Canada are also preparing for international commitments.

    On Monday, the Portuguese coach Luís Magalhães dropped the players Vladimiro Ricardino and Joaquim da Mata, due to injuries.

    The following players are part of the squad: Armando Costa, Domingos Bonifácio, Carlos Almeida, Carlos Morais, Olimpio Cipriano, Adolfo Quimbamba, Luis Costa, Leonel Paulo, Filipe Abraão, Kikas Gomes, Felizardo Ambrósio and Eduardo Mingas.

    The Afrobasket2009 will be held from August 05 to 15 in Libya, and Angola will play the first round against the national teams of Mali, in group B openers (August 05), Egypt and Mozambique.

    The national team of Angola won the gold medal of the 2nd Lusophone Games played last week in Portugal.
