    ANG - ABC stay unbeaten with win over Niger Potters

    HUAMBO (FIBA Africa Champions Cup) - Affi Andersonde and Konate Stephane poured in 22 and 14 points, respectively, to lead Abidjan Basketball Club (ABC) to an 82-73 triumph over Niger Potters on Monday at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup.

    On the fourth day of Group B action, ABC led 36-18 at the break and held on for their fourth consecutive win in Huambo.

    Abubakar Yusuf had 20 points and seven rebounds for Niger Potters, who had won against ABC in Zone Three of the preliminaries.

    Stade Malien's performance in this event went from bad to worse.

    The Mali outfit conceded their fourth successive defeat, losing 74-51 to BC Onatra of the Democratic Republic of Congo. At the break, Stade Malien trailed 38-27.

    BC Onatra's trio of Doctor Mutombo, Mulamba Mulamba and Presta Malemba scored 19, 14 and 18 points, respectively, while Moussa Kone led Stade Malien with 10.

    Still in Huambo, FIBA Africa Champions Cup holders Petro Atletico de Luanda demolished Mozambican Ferroviario da Beira 97-32.

    Petro Atletico de Luanda and ABC are unbeaten with eight points apiece and share the Group B lead.

    Niger Potters are third with six points while Ferroviario da Beira and BC Onatra share fourth. Stade Malien have yet to claim a win and have just four points.

    In Cabinda where the Group A games are being played, MBC of Guinea Conakry's Conde Moustapha had 16 points and his team went to the break with a 26-19 lead but Angolans InterClube won their game, 54-46.

    After the restart, the Angolans came back into the game with Jose Santos, who scored 15 points and cleared 11 rebounds, and Vicente Neto (13 points) providing most of the inspiration.

    Another Group A game saw FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2006 runners-up Primeiro de Agosto remain unbeaten at 4-0 after they defeated APR of Rwanda, 131-52.

    At the break, Primeiro de Agosto already had a 66-30 advantage.

    Angola international Olimpio Cipriano top-scored with 23 points and team-mate Francisco Jordao, a Portuguese national team player, contributed with 15.

    In the last game of Group A, ASB Kauka beat Aspac of Benin 77-45.

    Primeiro de Agosto lead the group with eight points followed by InterClube de Luanda with seven.

    MBC of Guinea Conakry and ASB Kauka of DR of Congo share third on six points apiece.

    APR of Rwanda are fifth with five points and Aspac of Benin remain winless with four points.
