COLORADO SPRINGS (United States) - USA Basketball have announced the pool of 36 players who will fight for the final 12 spots to play at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2026 and attempt to capture the country's eighth straight title.
Nasir Anderson, Beckham Black and Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje headline the group of players who will be meeting starting June 13 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Anderson and Black are two of 10 players invited to the camp who helped USA win the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2025. The others were Mason Collins, Erick Dampier Jr., Colton Hiller, Bentley Lusakueno, Kameron Mercer, Jordan Page, CJ Rosser, Shalen Sheppard and AJ Williams.

Anderson was named as the U16 AmeriCup MVP as he averaged 12.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 3.5 steals. Rosser (13.7 ppg 6.2 rpg 1.8 bpg) and Williams (13.5 ppg 7.8 rpg) were named to the tournament's Second Team. Page had 14.0 points per game while Black contributed 6.7 points, 6.5 assists and 3.3 steals per game.
Boumtje-Boumtje is the son of former NBA player Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje and has played the last three seasons with Barcelona in Spain and would be making his FIBA debut in Istanbul.
The USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee will select the 12 players who will head to Türkiye with USA head coach Scott Fitch.
The competition runs from June 27 to July 5 in Istanbul. USA have been drawn into Group A of the competition with games against France, Japan and Italy.
The Americans have never lost a game at the FIBA U17 World Cup, going 51-0 in winning seven titles.
