SAN JUAN (FIBA AmeriCup 2017) - The Puerto Rico Basketball Federation (FBPUR) announced the preliminary list of players for the FIBA AmeriCup 2017.

The delegate of the National Team, Ricardo Dalmau, informed that players from this list will be selected for the next two commitments of the National Team, the FIBA AmeriCup 2017 and a preparation tournament in China.

"We have the FIBA AmeriCup and an invitation for a preparation tournament in China. These two commitments will serve as preparation and help us select the new “12 Magnificos,” said Dalmau to the FBPUR Media Center.

Jorge Brian Díaz, David Huertas, Ramón Clemente, Carlos Rivera and Guillermo Díaz, are some of the players with National Team experience who will repeat in this new cycle.

The first commitment of the national team will be the FIBA AmeriCup 2017, where Puerto Rico will be part of Group A along with Mexico, Brazil and the hosts Colombia. The Boricuas will need the top position of the group to advance to the Semi-Finals of the competition in Cordoba, Argentina.

After the AmeriCup and looking forward to the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, Puerto Rico will travel to China for an invitational tournament with United States, Cuba and host, starting on October 1st.
