MONTEVIDEO (FIBA AmeriCup 2017) - Uruguay now knows what teams they will host during Group C from August 28-30, after the Official Draw of the FIBA AmeriCup 2017 on Thursday, April 20th.

The Dominican Republic, the United States and Panama will arrive on Uruguayan soil to fight for the available ticket to the next phase of the continental event.

"It's a complicated group in a very important tournament that we will be able to have here in our country. It's also a preparation stage for our goal of the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers," said Uruguay National Team Coach Marcelo Signorelli to Basquet Caliente.

"We are not going to play it by complying. We are going to go out to win every game to reach the "Final Four". We will be able to have the team training for a month and adapting to what we look for in the game," added Signorelli.

Uruguay qualified to the FIBA AmeriCup 2017 by defeating Argentina in the bronze medal game of the 2016 South American Championship and Signorelli hopes to have the same team for the 2017 AmeriCup.

"We are currently working with the coaching staff to have a list with the players with whom we want to count. Then we must see the imponderables of injuries and completion of their leagues. I have great expectations that we will have everyone," concluded Signorelli.
