    FIBA U18 Americas Championship groups are set after Draw

    MIAMI (United States) - The FIBA U18 Americas Championship draw for groups in the competition took place on May 16, determining the groups taking place in June in Mexico.

    MIAMI (United States) - The FIBA U18 Americas Championship draw took place on May 16, determining the groups battling for gold in Mexico from June 6 to 12.

    Host team Mexico (1) will take on Argentina (2), Brazil (3) and Canada (4) in Group A while Ecuador (1), Dominican Republic (2), USA (3) and Puerto Rico (4) make up Group B at Tijuana's Zonkeys Auditorium.

    The United States finished first in 2018 and has won the past five competitions. Puerto Rico and Argentina have also won gold in previous years.

    The eight National Teams are competing for one of four available spots for the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in 2023.

    The eight qualified teams join the U18 Americas Championship after playing in the CentroBasket and South American championships. The United States and Canada will be the representatives of North America.
