The Belgian guard and her colleagues put on a Gameday 4 defensive masterclass

WUHAN (China) - Julie Allemand has underlined her status as one of the leading playmakers on the global stage after setting a new steals record for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments.

She passed the previous best 6 steals to set a new all-time high before the half-time buzzer had even sounded in the 102-64 success against South Sudan.

Eventually finishing with an outstanding 7 steals, that contributed to Belgium also setting the team record. Meanwhile thanks mainly to the efforts of Allemand, the Cats eventually racked up 21 steals.

They also did the business at the other end of the floor too, finishing with a record-breaking 40 assists.
