Kosovo will host this year's FIBA Women's EuroBasket, Division C event

    Everything you need to know about this summer's FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket, Division C tournament.

    PEJA (Kosovo) - The FIBA U16 EuroBasket, Division C tournament is one of 16 youth events taking place this summer.

    It will occur in Peja, Kosovo, from July 8-13.

    Who is participating?

    How the group phase matchup in Kosovo

    A total of eight teams will compete for the Division C title. They have been split into two groups of four teams. The Group Phase is as follows:

    Group A: Gibraltar, Georgia, Armenia, Cyprus Group B: Moldova, Kosovo, Albania, Malta

    What is the schedule?

    The Group Phase takes place over three days, with a rest day on July 11. The competition then moves on to the Semi-Finals on July 12. The Final will begin on July 13, and the final Classification Games will also determine each of the eight positions.

    Who were the winners in 2024?

    Azerbaijan claimed back-to-back Division C titles last summer

    Azerbaijan gained a deserved promotion to Division B after successfully defending their Division C title with a 69-52 win over Cyprus in Gibraltar.

    Deniz Gokcol had a standout game in the Final, scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists for Azerbaijan. Isabelle Hadjichristodoulou paced the Cypriots with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

    Albania claimed bronze in the Third-Place Game after a game-winner from Emma Cela, with 1:25 remaining, helped them edge past Malta 43-41.

    Former MVPs

    Angelina Ismayilova - AZE

    Azerbaijan's Angelina Ismayilova was spectacular throughout the magical run to the title and was an easy choice for MVP. She led the tournament in scoring with 23.0 points per game and added 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and an impressive 4.0 steals per game.

    She was one of the most efficient players at the event with a tournament-best average efficiency valuation of 20.8.

    Roll of honor

    Despite settling for a runners-up finish last year, Cyprus remains the most successful nation in Division C, with four titles to its name. Scotland has tasted success three times, as has Iceland.
