DEBRECEN (Hungary) – The FIBA 3x3 World Tour returns to one of the discipline's most established destinations on August 29-30, with 16 teams set to battle for the title at Kossuth Square.
The World Tour follows the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Debrecen 2026 stop on August 27-28 and three days of the FIBA 3x3 Youth Nations League 2026 - U21 Europe-2 stop that also preceded the event, making it seven straight days of 3x3 basketball in the heart of Debrecen.
Here's everything you need to know before the action gets underway.
Where is the event?
The FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 will take place at Kossuth Square, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks.
Debrecen is Hungary's second-largest city and the country's largest city outside Budapest. With its rich cultural heritage, major university community and strong sporting tradition, Debrecen provides a fitting backdrop for one of the longest-running stops on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
When is it?
The World Tour action runs from Saturday, August 29 to Sunday, August 30:

Who are the teams?
A total of 16 teams will compete in Debrecen, with some of the biggest names on the World Tour joined by established contenders, challengers and the hometown side.
World No. 1 and top seed Ub (SRB) headline the field, with Miami (USA), Liman (SRB) and Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) completing the top four.
Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU), Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL), Baskets Bonn (GER) and Shanghai (CHN) round out the top eight seeds.
The field also features Toulouse (FRA), Hangzhou Jingwei (CHN), Barcelona (ESP), Cibona Ph.Classic (CRO), Kaunas VDU (LTU), Liberec DEKSTONE (CZE), Élancourt (FRA) and hometown side Debrecen (HUN).

How does the competition work?
The six teams in the Qualifying Draw will be split into two pools of three, with the top team from each pool earning a place in the Main Draw.
Those two qualifiers will join the 10 teams already seeded into the Main Draw, bringing the field to 12 teams. The Main Draw is divided into four pools of three, with every team playing the other two teams in its pool once.
The top two teams from each pool advance to the Quarter-Finals.
From there, it's win-or-go-home, with the Quarter-Finals leading into the Semi-Finals and ultimately the Final, where the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 champion will be crowned.
Who won last year?
Vienna (AUT claimed the first WT Debrecen title in 2025, defeating Skyliners (GER) 22-20 in the Final, with Valencia (ESP) finishing third.
The victory added Vienna to a distinguished list of Debrecen champions that includes Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE), Liman (SRB), Ub (SRB), Antwerp (BEL) and Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU).
Which players should you watch?
There will be plenty of star power in Debrecen, led by Strahinja Stojacic (Ub), who remains the benchmark of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour and enters the event as the leader in overall player value.
James Parrott (Miami) arrives after helping Miami win the FISE Birmingham Challenger a few weeks ago, while Dorde Simeunovic (Liman) will be central to his team's bid to bounce back from recent results.
Paris 2024 Olympic champion Worthy de Jong (Amsterdam RABOBANK) will bring his trademark experience and flair, while Evaldas Džiaugys (Raudondvaris Hoptrans) arrives after a runner-up finish at World Tour Lausanne 2026.
Nauris Miezis (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy) will look to turn another strong run into the team's World Tour stop win of the year, while Fabian Giessmann (Baskets Bonn) enters after helping his team win in WT Lausanne and at the Beijing Challenger.
Also keep an eye on Cameron Forte (Shanghai), who has reached the Semi-Finals at each of his last three Challenger appearances and led the Beijing Challenger in both total points and overall player value.

Why does Debrecen matter?
This will be the 11th time Debrecen has hosted a FIBA 3x3 World Tour stop, making it one of the circuit's longest-standing destinations.
The World Tour first arrived in the city in 2016, when Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE) claimed the inaugural title. Since then, Debrecen has welcomed champions from across the 3x3 basketball landscape, with Liman winning twice and Ub, Raudondvaris Hoptrans, Antwerp and Vienna also raising the banner.
The city's place in 3x3 basketball history extends beyond the World Tour, too. Kossuth Square has repeatedly provided the backdrop for major FIBA 3x3 events, helping establish Debrecen as one of Europe's most recognizable 3x3 destinations.
The 2026 edition will be another unique celebration, with the Women's Series and World Tour following the Youth Nations League to create a full week of 3x3 basketball in the city.
