TUNIS (FIBA AfroBasket 2017) - Mohamed Adam Rassil has been selected to help co-hosts Tunisia win this year's FIBA AfroBasket, the country's Basketball Federation confirmed on Thursday.

The 19-year-old small forward, who is described as one of Tunisia's promising talents, has joined six players who featured at the African Championship two years ago on home soil.

It will be Rassil's official debut with the senior team after making a splash across Africa in recent years with the North African country's youth teams.

Last year, for instance, the Nabeul native, ignited Tunisia to a Fourth-Place finish at FIBA U18 African Championship in Kigali, and as a result, he was named to the All-Tournament team.

From the original preliminary squad, Mohamed Abassi and Jouadi Jawher failed to make the cut, while the veteran duo of Zied Chennoufi and Radhouane Slimane, who played pivotal roles during FIBA Africa Zone 1 qualifiers against Algeria and Morocco earlier this year, are set to return to the FIBA AfroBasket for the first time since 2013.
