JOHANNESBURG (South Africa) - Gameday 2 of the ongoing 2024 BAL Elite 16 East Division was not devoid of drama as great performances were witnessed all round with teams chasing Semi-Finals slots.

Here are some of the players who lit up the arena as the chase for the final three BAL slots continued.

    Elly Randriamampionona (COSPN)

The Africa 3x3 champion brought his shooting prowess to the court as he torched Ferroviario da Beira 26, all but 5 from threes, to lead Madagascar's charge for an 88-57 win that puts them back in the running for a Last Four place.

His contribution and that of Samuel Adewunmi who scored 11 in the final quarter for 22 did the Mozambique representatives in.

Samkelo Brian Cele (Cape Town Tigers)

The 25-year-old South African forward was on fire in the last three quarters of his side's clash with Tanzania's Pazi, scoring 30 in just over 29 minutes.

He was picking from where he had left in Gameday 1 against Dynamo of Burundi where he scored 23 points in the close to 27 minutes he was on the floor.

    Parrish Petty ( City Oilers)

After scoring 19 points in the side's opening match against COSPN on the opening day, Petty picked up from where he left off, dropping a massive 29 against JBC of Zimbabwe. He added 7 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist to propel the Oilers to an 84-71 win.

The 35-year-old American guard was 4 for 10 from behind the arc and barely put a foot wrong on the line, converting 9 of his 10 chances and adding the rest on the paint for the performance that saw him finish with a game-high 25 rating in efficiency.

    Khaman Maluach (NBA Academy Africa)

The South Sudanese international has been a menace for whichever team he faces and his show against Burundi champions Dynamo was no different as he racked in a game-high 23 points to help his side pick a second win in a 76-71 outcome.

It was another double-double for the 17-year-old seven-footer as he added 18 rebounds with 4 blocks and 3 steals completing his impressive numbers that have him a 36 rating in efficiency.

    Israel Otobo (Dynamo)

Despite his side's loss, the 19-year-old Nigerian International put up some impressive numbers in the 28:59 minutes he was on the floor, emerging as his side's top scorer with 22 in their 76-71 loss to NBA Academy Africa.

He was 9-for-20 shooting, making half of his attempts on the paint, and another 50 percent conversion on the line for the 22, adding 10 rebounds and 2 steals to his tally.

    Nyang Wek (JBC)

The match may have ended in the worst of ways for the 27-year-old South Sudanese power forward as he picked an injury that could keep him out for the remainder of the competition but Wek was his side's engine as they pushed Oilers to the wall throughout the game.

In what was the last action of the game, Wek slipped while going for a layup and landed awkwardly on the floor, seemingly picking an ankle injury.

Before his unfortunate conclusion to the match, he had 10 points and pulled down 13 boards for a double-double. He added 5 steals, 2 assists and a block to complete a notable performance despite his side's loss.
