    AS Sale upset hosts US Monastir on Day 2 at FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 Zone 1 Qualifiers

    They not only defeated hosts Union Sportive Monastirienne (USM) 93-89 in front of a rowdy crowd but they also improved their mark to 2-0 with three games left. 

    They went to the locker room tied at 40-40, and despite trailing 68-61 heading to the final quarter, the Moroccans stepped up in the final minutes in the highly-anticipated game of the day to remain undefeated in two games.

    In the process, USM dropped to 1-1.

    In Sunday's first game Al-Ittihad of Libya bounced back from Saturday's defeat to GS Petroliers, beating Morocco side MAS 73-69.

    Meanwhile, Algerian champions GS Petroliers beat Al-Nasr Benghazi of Libya 89-60 to improve their mark to 2-0.

    The teams that finish in the top two places of the competition will advance to the 12-team ACC 2017 in Rades, Tunisia (December 11-20).

    GS Petroliers (Algeria) v Maghreb A. Sportive  (Morocco)
