MONASTIR (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) - Three clubs from three North African countries on Thursday completed the 12-team FIBA Africa Champions Cup (ACC) lineup in the Zone 1 qualifiers in the Tunisian city of Monastir.
Despite an 87-85 loss to Algerian champions GS Petroliers, Moroccan side of Association Sportive de Sale advanced to the ACC Finals as winners of the regional tournament with a 4-1 record.
The Algerians finished in Second-Place thanks to a 4-1mark, and as a result, both clubs secured direct qualification for 2017 edition of FIBA Africa's prime clubs competition.
US Monastirienne conceded a second defeat in five games
Although hosts Union Sportive Monastirienne lost to Moroccan outfit Maghreb Athletic Sportive de FES 77-75, they benefited from a wild card for the Final Round.
Meanwhile, in the Libyan derby, Al Ittihad outscored Al-Nasr 78-60 to return home with a 2-3 mark.

This year's ACC will run from December 11-20 in Rades, on the outskirts of the Tunisian capital of Tunis.
This is the ACC 2017 lineup: Etoile Sportive Rades (Tunisia), Kano Pillars (Nigeria), Gome Bulls (Nigeria), AS Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo), New Generation (DR Congo), City Oilers (Uganda), Interclube de Luanda (Angola), Sport Libolo e Benfica (Angola), Ferroviario da Beira* (Mozambique), Union Sportive Monastirienne* (Tunisia), Association Sportive Sale (Morocco) and Groupment Sportive Petroliers (Algeria).
