MAPUTO (2016 FIBA Africa U18 Women’s Championship) – Mozambique’s head coach Leonel Manhique has trimmed his roster to 12 players as the 2016 FIBA Africa U18 Women’s Championship will tip off in 8 days.
The core of the team is made up of four players including Carla Covane, Madina Camara, Veronica Salifu and Shelsea Rafael who featured at last year’s FIBA Africa U16 Women’s Championship in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

Mozambique who finished at fourth place two years ago will be one of the teams to beat at the event that will take place from 26 August – 4 September in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo.
Ten teams will do battle to secure the two spots on offer for African teams for next year's FIBA U19 World Championship in Turin, Italy.
