Uganda v Gabon
...
With their first win in the competition - over Benin - on Friday, Gabon (1-5) not only avoided finishing last in the 11-team event but will now try to finish 9th. The trouble is, they need to beat Uganda (1-4), a team that seems to be slightly more competitive than they are.
DR Congo v Algeria
...
Although the Algerians (2-3) might still be trying to figure out how they wasted a superb chance of beating reigning champions Egypt on Friday (they were really close to causing the biggest upset in the event). But it's about time to move on, learn from past mistakes and do better against the DR Congo (2-4). At first glance, the North Africans hold some key factors that may be detrimental: They are more disciplined, execute and handle the ball better. The winner of this contest will secure a place in the Fifth-Place Game on Sunday.
Cote d'Ivoire v Rwanda
...
Hosts Rwanda (3-2) have failed to reach Semi-Final - their pre-established goal -, but that's not the end of the world. And the only way to appreciate their fans tireless support is by reaching the Fifth-Place Game. The new challenge begins against Cote d'Ivoire (1-4) and it seems quite achievable considering their 74-65 win in Group A.
Angola v Tunisia
...
The Angolans (6-0) have been dominant throughout the tournament winning all their six games, including a 66-56 victory over Tunisia in Group B. However, the Tunisians could have beaten the Angolans had they kept composure later in the game. Although Angola look favourite, recent episodes remind that a team that wins in the Group Phase usually tends to struggle when it matters most.
Mali v Egypt
...
Mali have reached the Semi-Finals undefeated in five games without facing any real title contender. Now, they go up against the reigning champions Egypt (5-1). Unfortunately only one of the two teams will advance to the gold medal game. Egypt have fallen short to Angola in Group B. Can they bounce back against a good and athletic Mali team?
