KIGALI (FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016) - It's Quarter-Finals Day at FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016 in Kigali, Rwanda, and a lot can be decided on Friday. It's the day in which four national teams will be celebrating a place in the semis, while four others will see their dreams of qualifying for next year's FIBA U19 World Championship come to an end.

The Day action will begin with Benin facing Gabon for a spot in the Ninth-Place against Uganda.

    Benin v Gabon

    ...

This could be the game of the tournament for both Benin (0-5) and Gabon (0-4). More than securing their first victory, the winner of this contest will avoid the last place in the 11-team event and will ensure a place in the Ninth-Place Game on Saturday.

    Cote d'Ivoire v Angola

    ...

By beating the defending champions Egypt on Wednesday, the Angolans (5-0) not only finished their Group B campaign undefeated in five games, but they also became the team that opponents would rather avoid at this stage of the competition. The Ivoirians (1-3) are yet to prove a pedigree to stop a team of the Angolans' caliber.

    Algeria v Egypt

    ...

The inevitable question is whether or not Egypt (4-1) can bounce back from a Group B defeat against Angola. At first glance, the reigning champions Egypt look favourite, but this Algerian team (2-2) has played well enough in the Group Phase and doesn't seem content to be denied in the Quarter-Finals.

    Tunisia v Rwanda

    ...

The big moment for hosts Rwanda (3-1) has finally arrived. Prior to the tournament, the Rwandans established the Semi-Finals as their main goal. Now, they need to overcome reigning runners-up Tunisia (3-2). Local fans have provided a tireless support to their heroes, and will be needed more than ever.

    DR Congo v Mali

    ...

Here is a game between two athletic teams though facing different circumstances. Mali (4-0) dominated their Group A campaign, while the debutant DR Congo (2-3) have left signs of highly competitiveness. The Congolese have already history by reaching the Quarter-Finals as tournament debutants, but taking on title contender Mali seems quite a challenge.
