    U17 Worlds leaders Khalaf, Mostafa included on Egypt U18 roster

    CAIRO (FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016) - Ahmed Khalaf and Esam Mostafa were among a quintet of players from the recent FIBA U17 World Championship who were included on reigning champions Egypt’s final

    CAIRO (FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016) - Ahmed Khalaf and Esam Mostafa were among a quintet of players from the recent FIBA U17 World Championship who were included on reigning champions Egypt’s final 12-man roster for the FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016.

    In addition to Khalaf and Mostafa, Tarek Raafat, Mohamed Ramadan and Mohamed Youssef all gained valuable experience playing at the U17 Worlds in Zaragoza, where Egypt finished 16th with a 1-6 record.

    The Egyptians will be coached by Amr Abouelkhir, who guided the country's senior team at the 2014 FIBA  World Cup in Spain. 

    Three of Abouelkhir’s players - Khalaf, Mostafa and Seifeldin Elsanadiliy - played for Egypt at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship. 

    Egypt enter the tournament in Rwanda from 22-31 July as the reigning champions in 2014 and also won the title in 2008 and 2010. The Northern Africans also won the FIBA Africa U18 Championship in 1977 and 1984.
