    KIGALI (FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016) - The draw for the FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016 took place on Thursday at the Marriott Hotel in Rwanda's capital city of Kigali.

    KIGALI (FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016) - The draw for the FIBA Africa U18 Championship 2016 took place on Thursday at the Marriott Hotel in Rwanda's capital city of Kigali.

    The results of the draw are as follows:

    Group A: 1. Rwanda; 2. Zimbabwe; 3. Gabon; 4. Algeria; 5. Mali; 6. Cote d'Ivoire. Group B: 1. Egypt; 2. Tunisia; 3. Benin; 4. Angola; 5. Democratic Republic of the Congo; 6. Uganda. [/unordered]


    The Preliminary Phase of the tournament will be played in a round robin format, with every team taking on its five (5) opponents in its respective group.

    The top four teams from each group will advance to the Final Phase, played in a knockout format from the Quarter-Finals onwards (Semi-Finals and Final).

    The 3rd Place Game and the Final will be played on the last day of the tournament (31st July).

    The Winner and the Runners-up will secure tickets for FIBA U19 World Championship 2017 in Cairo, Egypt.
