SINGAPORE (Singapore) - Reigning champions of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup together with the best basketball club representing each FIBA region, and NBA G League United, have arrived in Singapore to battle for the title of Champion of champions.
Fans can expect an action-packed program at the Singapore Sports Hub for the third straight year.
From thrilling games and star-studded ambassador meet-and-greets, to community tournaments, clinics and workshops, Singapore's basketball fraternity is in for a treat.
The FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2025, taking place September 18-21 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, is a global tournament that sees the best basketball club from each region compete against each other for the coveted trophy.
This year's tournament welcomes three teams from Japan, Australia and Libya making their tournament debut.
Defending champions Unicaja (Spain) will return to face this year's contenders for the title - fellow FIBA continental champions Flamengo (Brazil), Utsunomiya Brex (Japan), Illawarra Hawks (Australia), Alahli SC (Libya) and NBA G League United.
Accessible to all
To ensure more fans can experience the thrill of live sport, entry to the FIBA Intercontinental Cup games on the first day, September 18, will be free on a first-come-first-served basis.
This initiative was first introduced in the 2024 edition to allow more people to enjoy live basketball games. Tickets for the other games start from $10 and limited tickets are still on sale here: https://www.sportshub.com.sg/events/FIBAICC_25.
Cheer on our youths
Organizers have lined up a host of activities to help strengthen Singapore's basketball ecosystem for aspiring players, coaches, and the public at large.
At the event Fan Zone, which is open to all members of the public, patrons will get the chance to get up close and personal with 2012 NBA champion Ronny Turiaf and three-time EuroLeague winner Pero Antic – both have been named the FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2025 Ambassadors.
Turiaf and Antic will host Meet-and-Greet sessions at the Fan Zone throughout the four days of tournament.
Basketball fans are also invited to come cheer on youth basketball teams as they challenge themselves against their peers in the LockerRoom 3x3 Tournament taking place at the Fan Zone.
This popular youth tournament will feature 32 boys' and girls' teams in the U14 and U19 categories battling it out from September 18 to 21.
The Fan Zone, located at the North forecourt of the Singapore Indoor Stadium, will be a hive of activity on game days. Find out more here: https://www.sportshub.com.sg/events/FIBAICC_25
Transfer of skills and knowledge
Youth players seeking to elevate their game will get a rare opportunity to learn from the best in Singapore at closed-door basketball clinics led by national 3x3 basketball athletes.
The sessions, a collaboration with the ActiveSG Basketball Academy, will see the FIBA Intercontinental Cup ambassadors take the court.
In addition, coaching and officiating workshops featuring FIBA Intercontinental Cup ambassadors and coaches, and Team Singapore will be conducted during the week for registered players and officials. They can use this chance to deepen their knowledge of basketball and raise the profile of the sport here across all aspects.
