SHANGHAI (China) – Seven teams have now secured their places at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026, with the eighth and last spot set to be decided at WS Takasaki.
The Netherlands (NED), Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL), Rapid Bucharest (ROU), Neftchi SOCAR (AZE), Beijing (CHN), China (CHN) and France (FRA) have all booked their places at the Shanghai Final, setting the stage for another star-studded showdown in one of the world's most vibrant cities on September 5-6.
With just one qualification spot remaining, Germany (GER) and Mitsubishi Electric are the only teams still in contention, with the outcome set to be determined at the penultimate stop of the Women's Series season in Takasaki.
Seven teams punch their tickets
The Netherlands headline the confirmed field after putting together another strong FIBA 3x3 Women's Series campaign. They have won five WS stops overall, including their last four in a row, earning their place among the teams bound for Shanghai.
They will be joined by Mongolia's Ulaanbaatar Amazons, Romania's Rapid Bucharest and Azerbaijan's Neftchi SOCAR, while China will have a particularly strong presence at their home Final with both Beijing and China securing qualification. France have also secured their place in Shanghai as the seventh qualified team.
That leaves just one spot still to be decided.
Who claims the final qualification berth?
For Germany and Mitsubishi Electric, the equation is straightforward: if Mitsubishi finish third or higher at WS Takasaki, they will claim the last qualification berth and complete the Shanghai Final field.
If Mitsubishi finish outside the top three in Takasaki, though, Germany will secure the eighth and last Shanghai Final spot instead.
That makes Takasaki a crucial chapter in the Women's Series regular season, with Mitsubishi Electric needing a top-three finish to keep their Shanghai hopes alive, while Germany will be intently watching and waiting to see if they can secure the final ticket.
Shanghai ready for another Women's Series Final
The FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026 will take place on September 5-6 at the West Bund Art Center in Xuhui District, Shanghai.
It will be the second consecutive year that Shanghai hosts the Women's Series Final, following Canada's triumph at the 2025 edition.
The 2026 event will also mark the fifth FIBA 3x3 Women's Series event held in China this season, following the Chengdu, Shanghai, Xiantao and Jinan stops.
With two more berths to be filled, the complete field for the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026 will be confirmed following WS Takasaki.
