Thirty new coaches join the coaching mainstream in Sri Lanka

BEIRUT (Lebanon)- Two WABC Level 1 clinics for coaches were conducted by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia in Colombo recently. Both the clinics organised in Colombo under the banner of Sri Lanka Basketball Federation, were conducted by WABC instructor Safa Ali Kamalian.

The two clinics were held back-to-back between April 20-May 2.

The first clinic saw five women out of a total of 15 attendees while the second clinic too had as many total participants with one of them being a woman.

“The FIBA level 1 course was a great experience,” said Shane Heran who attended the first clinic.

“We learnt a lot about basketball in detail. But certain aspects of the game are different compared to Europe and we need to work harder to apply them in Sri Lanka,” he added.

“The FIBA level 1 course was highly informative and well-structured,” said Frank Fernando about the second clinic.

“The content was relevant and practical, with engaging sessions that encouraged active participation. Overall, it was a valuable experience for all participants," he said.
