The Latvian studs, seeded 3rd at this Masters, dominated Pool C with wins over the young Team Kaunas (LTU) and Team Humpolec Bernard (CZE). They will face Team Amsterdam Inoxdeals (NED) in the quarter-finals. Karlis Lasmanis and Nauris Miezis played Batman and Robin again. Lasmanis had a team-high 14 points while Miezis had 6 key assists.
In Pool A, Team Novi Sad Al Wahda (SRB), the Lausanne Masters 2017 winners, won both their games with Dusan Bulut producing a new bunch of Sportscenter highlight plays. Amsterdam Inoxdeals also advanced from the pool to the Day 2 quarter-finals.
Pool B saw Team Liman Tesla Voda (SRB) advance with ease. However, the bigger story in Pool B was that last year's finalist Team Lausanne (SUI) brought the home crowd to its feet after beating Nice GRDF (FRA) and clinching their spot in the quarter-finals.
In Pool D, the reigning world tour champs Zemun (SRB) and qualifying draw winners Piran (SLO) will go on to play on Day 2.
