Novi Sad Al Wahda reign supreme at Bucharest Challenger

BUCHAREST (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - The reigning FIBA 3x3 World Tour champs Novi Sad Al Wahda demolished archrivals Ljubljana (21-6) in the final of the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger on 13-14 August.

BUCHAREST (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - The reigning FIBA 3x3 World Tour champs Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE) demolished archrivals Ljubljana (SLO) (21-6) in the final of the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger on 13-14 August. Both teams earned a ticket to the Debrecen Masters on 7-8 September.

Just one week after the Prague Masters, Novi Sad Al Wahda avenged their semi-final loss against Ljubljana in dramatic fashion.

The number one 3x3 player in the world Dusan Domovic Bulut led his team to a scorching hot 10-1 start after just 4 minutes of play and never looked back.

With this success, the two-time World Tour winners qualify for their 4th Masters of the season (after Utsunomiya and Prague, and before Beijing) while Ljubljana secured their ticket to their 3rd Masters this year (after Utsunomiya and Prague).

Both teams have already clinched their qualification for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi on 27-28 October after winning the Utsunomiya (Novi Sad Al Wahda) and Prague Masters (Ljubljana).

No less than ten previous World Tour teams were part of Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Challenger and a total of 11 countries were represented, from three continents.

The Bucharest Challenger came just three weeks ahead of the FIBA 3x3 European Championships, which will be hosted in the Romanian capital city as well on 2-4 September. Both tournaments are organised by Romanian promoter Sport Arena.
