    PHILIPPINES (FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2018) - Janine Pontejos made history as she prevailed at the Shoot-Out Contest of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2018 in Bulacan, Philippines on June 12, 2018.

    Pontejos, the star two-point shooter of the Philippines women's team, sank 12 shots overall, including 2 bonus balls, to score a total of 14 points. She actually had the same point-total as Russia's Alexandra Stolyar, but Pontejos finished her run faster at 41.86 seconds compared to Stolyar's time of 49.92.

    Pontejos's gold medal-worthy performance is the first ever medal of the Philippines at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, while Stolyar brought home the silver medal. Croatia's Hrvoje Marin scored 11 points to end up with the bronze, while Maksim Dybovskii of Russia finished fourth overall with 8 points.
