CONSTANTA (FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2018) - Twenty one teams from 19 countries will compete in the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup Romania Qualifier 2018 on June 30 - July 1.

The teams were allocated to the various qualifiers based on the world’s FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking.

Both 2017 World Champs Serbia and Russia were assigned to Romania.

In the men's tournament, Serbia - who have never won the Europe Cup - will have to deal with 2014 winners, Romania and several 3x3 powerhouses, including Lithuania (3rd at Europe Cup 2014) and Spain (2nd at European Games 2015).

In the women's category, Russia - who completed a historic double last year (Europe Cup and World Cup) - will need to keep an eye on Romania (2nd at Europe Cup 2016) and the Netherlands (3rd at Europe Cup 2017).

    Full list of participants:

Men: Serbia, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Germany, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Sweden & Ireland.

Women: Russia, Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Belarus, Austria, Israel & Lithuania.

The 12 men's teams will be divided into 4 pools of 3 teams while in the women's competition, the 9 teams will be split in 1 pool of 4 teams and another one of 5 and seeded automatically based on the April 1, 2018 3x3 Federation Ranking.

All teams play every other in their respective pools. In the men's category, the 2 first teams from each pool advance to the quarter-finals. The quarter-final winning teams are qualified for the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2018. If Romania (as hosts of the final) reach and wins  a quarter-final, the 4 quarter-final losers will continue with an elimination bracket for the final qualification spot. In the women's category, the winner of each pool is directly qualified for the 3x3 Europe Cup. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams will play against  the 2nd and 3rd teams from the other pool. Winners from those games play for a spot in the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup. If Romania (as hosts of the final) finish in the Top 3, then the team finishing 4th qualifies for the Europe Cup.
