Record 30 teams from 18 countries to compete at FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2022

    MIAMI (USA) - The second edition of the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup will feature a record number of 31 teams from 18 countries in Miami, USA on November 3-6, 2022.

    MIAMI (USA) - The second edition of the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup will feature a record number of 30 teams from 18 countries in Miami, USA on November 3-6, 2022.

    A total of 17 teams will compete in the men's category. The top 10 teams in the ranking (based on their ranking position in the Open category of the 3x3  Federation Ranking of November 1, 2021) were directly drawn to the main draw. The next 8 were allocated to 2 different qualifying draws. Both winners will join the main draw.

    Qualifying Draw A: Guayana, Ecuador, Haiti, Aruba
    Qualifying Draw B: Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Barbados

    Main Draw
    Pool A: United States, Guatemala, Brazil
    Pool B: Puerto Rico, Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago
    Pool C: Canada, Mexico, Qualifying Draw A winner
    Pool D: Dominican Republic, Chile, Qualifying Draw B winner

    Thirteen teams will participate in the women's category. The first 10 were allocated to the Main Draw. The next 3 were allocated to the QD, with the first 2 teams from the QD advancing to the Main Draw.

    QD A: Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados. 

    Pool A: United States, Guyana, Colombia
    Pool B: Canada, Guatemala, QD A - 1
    Pool C: Chile, Argentina, Jamaica
    Pool D: Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, QD A - 2

    The top 2 teams in each pool will qualify to a direct elimination bracket, starting with the quarter-finals.

    The United States won the first edition of the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup in both categories on November 12-14, 2021.
