LJUBLJANA (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - With only a few days to go until the Final of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final in Miami, the 48 competing players are preparing for the tournament of a lifetime on South Beach.

Among those participating are the three top-placed players in the 3x3planet Ranking, all of whom play for Slovenian team Ljubljana.

Rok Vrecic, Simon Finzgar and Adin Kavgic all represented their country at the FIBA 3x3 World Championship in Athens, Greece finishing in ninth place.

However, they bounced back to reach the Final of the Madrid stage of the 3x3 World Tour, where they booked their places for Miami.

We caught up with Kavgic to find out a little about his Ljubljana team and his impressions of this first ever full season of 3x3 basketball.

FIBA: How do you guys know each other and how long have you been playing basketball together for?

Kavgic: We know each other from the streets of course, we met there. Simon and Rok know each other for a long time, i joined the team five years back when they saw me playing outside, and then Rok recruited me.

FIBA: What has this season of 3x3 basketball been like for you?
Kavgic: This season has been amazing, the best thing that ever happened to me. I have seen places I have never been to, met a lot of new people, had the time of my life, and of course I learned a lot more about 3x3 basketball. The only dark spot is that we didn’t do better in the 3x3 world championship.

FIBA: Did you enjoy the 3x3 World Tour in Madrid?

Kavgic: Yes i did. Everything was great, from the organization to the city and people. And being in the final made it so much more special.

FIBA: What does it feel like to be number one in the world?
Kavgic: Getting to the top is always easier then staying there, so we will do anything to remain on top as long as possible. It a great amazing feeling to be no.1 in something. How many people can say they wore number one?

FIBA: What do you expect from Miami?
Kavgic: I don’t have any expectations, I am going there with no pressure, we already did a lot. We are going to Miami to do our best, leave our hearts on the court and hope for the best.
