    3x3 - FIBA 3x3 World Tour season imminent

    SAO PAULO (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) – With only one week to go until the Sao Paulo’s stage of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, the city is gearing up to welcome the first of the five tournaments that will lead 16 teams to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final in Miami, USA on 22-23 September.

    On 14-15 July, all eyes will be on the Centro Olímpico de Treinamento e Pesquisa (COTP) (Olympic Center) in Sao Paulo where 12 of the best 3x3 teams from Central and South America will come face to face.

    Initially scheduled for 7-8 July, the tournament will see the participating teams divided into two groups of six teams and play in a round-robin first round against their respective group opponents.

    The top four teams from each group progress to the Quarter-Finals where the tournament continues in a standard knock-out format.

    Following Sao Paulo, the 3x3 World Tour moves on to Vladivostok only a week later. The remaining stops of New York, USA (18-19 August), Istanbul, Turkey (1-2 September) and Madrid, Spain (8-9 September) being played over the remainder of the summer.

    The World Tour events will also extend beyond the games of the tournament proper, seeing the participating players take part in individual skills challenges, welcoming top street artists and DJs, while spectators and passers-by will be able to take part in mass participation 3x3 games and tournaments.
