    Central Africa Repulic Monday failed to stop 2009 third place team, Tunisia in the battle for the top seed of group-D losing by 52-65 points of the 26th Afrobasket.
     
    The FIBA Africa Zone-4 nation lost in the first and last quarters by 13-22 and 16-23 points but manage to win by a slim margin in the second and third quarters by 14-12 and 09-08 points in a keenly contested battle of supremacy.
     
    Tunisia veteran Radhouane led his team with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists while the duo of Mourad El-Mabrouk and Marouan Kechrid added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 13 points and 4 assists respectively with Central Africa Michael Mokongo leading the floor with 26 points.
     
    Wih the results Central Africa thus end the first round series in second position as Tunisia finished first, Central Africa will now keep a date with Egypt in the eight round finals on Tuesday while Tunisia battle South Africa on Wednesday.
