    Defending champion of the FIBA Africa Championship for Men Angola opened its title defense with a clinical finish over Tchad in its group-B opening game Thursday night.

    The Ten-time champion won in all four quarters by 35-17, 33-07, 21-13 and 26-19 points for a cumulative score-line of 115-56 points to announce its preparedness to defend the title it has held ten times in the last eleven championship in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

    Angolan Carlos Morais led in scoring with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, reigning most valuable player Joaquim Gomes had 15 points and 7 rebounds just as the duo of Simao Santos and Milton Barros contributed 12 points each
