CHOLET (France) - Cholet Basket's Vojtech Hruban reached a milestone Wednesday, becoming the first player in Basketball Champions League history to reach 1,000 career points.

The 34-year-old Czech international came into the game with 996 points (all of these points coming with ERA Nymburk), and he finished with 5 points in 21 minutes of action in Cholet's narrow 74-73 victory over VEF Riga.

"At last! I am very happy it's out of the way, because everyone was talking about it. It was hanging above my head for a long time, hopefully now we can stop talking about records and we can focus on basketball," Hruban said with a smile after the game.

Hruban could soon be joined in the 1,000 points club by Lenovo Tenerife center Giorgi Shermadini, who currently sits in second place on the list with 948 points.
