    Elvar Fridriksson posts triple-double to become part of BCL history

    ISTANBUL (Turkiye) - On Wednesday in the Basketball Champions League, PAOK mateco's Elvar Fridriksson made history in an 88-77 victory over Galatasaray EKMAS.

    ISTANBUL (Turkiye) - PAOK mateco's Elvar Fridriksson made history in  the  Basketball Champions League on Wednesday, in the Greek team's 88-77 victory over Galatasaray EKMAS on the road.

    The 28-year-old guard from Iceland became only the third player in BCL history to post a triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, and the first to register one in a road game.

    Fridriksson secured the triple-double with one final assist on a three-pointer by Andrew Harrison with only about 10 seconds left in the game.

     

    The other two players to record triple-doubles in the BCL are Chris Kramer who did it with EWE Baskets Oldenburg in January 2017 (16 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists) v Muratbey Usak, and Arnas Butkevicius who did it with Neptunas Klaipeda in November 2017 (19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists) v PAOK.
