BOGOTÁ (Americas) - In preparation for the future and with the participation of 207 referees, the Referee Department of the International Basketball Federation in the Americas and the Colombian National Federation held a new Clinic for Referees in Bogota, Colombia.
With clear ideas and defined concepts, the FIBA Americas Referee Director Mr. Geraldo Fontana and renowned International Referee Roberto Vázquez dictated clinics from 17-19 of February, as part of the Referee Development Program of National Federations.
Participants received valuable lessons, like the unification of an official’s criteria, analyzation of emphasis points for 2017, the mechanics for a 3 person officiating crew, and at the same time the Referee Department of the Americas sought to identify new talents for the continent.
The Referees Development Program of National Federations will organize new clinics throughout the continent of the Americas and future editions of the program will be announced soon.
