MUNICH (Germany) - The FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season field is almost complete, after the Basketball Champions League Qualifying Tournaments concluded on Sunday.
There were 21 clubs that had opted into competing in FIBA Europe Cup, and the following teams have now had their places in the Regular Season confirmed:
Bakken Bears (DEN), BC Batumi 2010 (GEO), BC Vienna (AUT), Biotekno Korfez Basket (TUR), BK Opava (CZE), CSM CSU Raiffeisen Oradea (ROU), Dziki Warszawa (POL), Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets (GER), Fribourg Olympic Basket (SUI), Kolossos H Hotels BC (GRE), Landau Lions (AZE), Lions de Geneve (SUI), Manchester Basketball (GBR), Patrioti Levice (SVK), Petrolina AEK Larnaca (CYP), Promitheas Patras (GRE), Rilski Sportist (BUL), SL Benfica (POR), VEF Riga (LAT), Yukatel Denizli Basket (TUR).
Each club was provisionally placed when the draw for the Regular Season took place in July, with the field split into eight groups of six teams.
Meanwhile, as a result of RASTA Vechta advancing to the Basketball Champions League Regular Season, an extra spot will be filled from the FIBA Europe Cup Qualifiers.
The winner of each of the three ties in the Qualifiers will advance, alongside a 'lucky loser' - this will be determined by the best-ranked losing team, in accordance to Section D of the Official Basketball Rules.
The two legs are played on September 23 and September 30, when the complete 40-team field for the Regular Season will be confirmed.
