PORTLAND (USA) – Sienna Betts and Jasmine ‘Jazzy’ Davidson lit it up for USA as they claimed a 90-78 success against the World Select Team at the 2025 Women’s Nike Hoop Summit to make it three wins from the first three editions. The duo were at the heart of USA’s victory at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon as the contest continued to underline the depth of emerging rising stars who have already stepped out in FIBA youth tournaments.
Betts, who made the All-Star Five at the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup in Colombia last year, racked up the highest performance efficiency valuation in the game at 24 after contributing a sparkling near double-double. She stepped off court with 16 points and 9 rebounds to her name – as well as a super 5 steals. Similarly, the dynamic Davidson showed her ability to entertain with some outstanding plays, having not only been alongside Betts in Bucuramanga, but having also won gold at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup 2024 too. Her golden touch was in evidence again as she netted a game-high 17 points and showcased her creative ability by dishing out 7 dimes.
While USA were on top for the most part, they had to dig out the win with a late surge. Ahead by double-digits, they were left shocked when their advantage evaporated and the World Select went ahead 72-71 early in the fourth quarter. But USA rallied with a 13-2 run, inspired by the strength inside of Betts and they closed the game out. USA finished with ana eye-catching five different ballers posting double-digit scoring returns, including FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup winner, Emilee Skinner who claimed 13 points after a super smart 5 of 7 from the floor.
The World Select Team were led mainly by the potent three-punch of Ayla McDowell, Saffron Shiels and Sarah Cisse. McDowell, who excelled for Brazil at the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup last year led her team with 15 points – only missing two shots all night. Meanwhile Australian talent Shiels who played at the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup back in 2022 had an all-action 8 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Finally, Cisse who is yet another baller on the seemingly never ending conveyor belt of young French stars, had a productive night with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 big blocks. FIBA
