ALEXANDRIA/DAKAT (Egypt/Senegal) - Four members of the 2025 AfroBasket All-Tournament team are back and will be in action in Alexandria and Dakar.
They are among the top players to watch in Window 2 of the 2027 World Cup African qualifiers.
They will be joined by a group of equally talented players.
Here are 10 players to watch:
Deng Geu (Uganda)
Position: Forward Age: 29 Club: - Height: 206 cm / 6'9"
Since making his debut with the Ugandan national team during the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers, Deng Geu has been one of the team's most important players, thanks to his all-round ability.
Jordan Sakho (DR CONGO)
Position: Center Age: 28 Club: CB Breogan (Spain) Height: 207 cm / 6'9"
Jordan has become the team's go-to man, and he hasn't disappointed. Not only can he provide lethal shots on the offensive end, but he can also protect the rim and the painted area with tremendous ferocity.
At the 2025 AfroBasket tournament, Sakho led his country with an average of 16.3 points, 8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.8 blocked shots per game.
He was pivotal in helping the DR Congo team win the inaugural FIBA AfroCan tournament — the country's only medal — back in 2019.
Jean Jacques Boissy - (Senegal)
Position: Shooting Guard Age: 26 Club: Ahly Benghazi (Libya) Height: 183m cm / 6'0"
Just a few months after helping Al Ahly Tripoli to the 2025 BAL title while claiming MVP honors, Boissy wrote a new chapter in African basketball by setting a new AfroBasket record with his impressive 40-point performance in a 98-72 third-place game route.
A genuine three-point shooter, Boissy averaged 19 points, 4.6 assists and 3.0 steals as Senegal finished third at the 2025 AfroBasket.
Mathias M'Madi (Madagascar)
Position: Guard Age: 20 Club: - Height: 194 cm / 6'4"
Since making his international basketball debut at the 2022 U18 AfroBasket, M'Madi has exuded confidence. He is always ready to play, regardless of the opposition.
He has become one of the best point guards in African basketball, and Madagascar will rely on him to distribute the ball and score in their World Cup Qualifiers debut.
In his first senior AfroBasket appearance, he was one of Madagascar's standout performers, using his deft and crafty moves to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.
Childe Dundao (Angola)
Position: Guard Age: 27 Club: Petro de Luanda Height: 167 cm / 5'6"
Dundao is a seasoned floor general who has won every major title on the African continent.
The 2025 AfroBasket champion and MVP thrives in high-pressure situations and has the ability to swing the momentum in Angola's favour.
He can shoot three-pointers with accuracy, drive into the paint and score against much bigger defenders. Another of his strengths is his defensive work: he can steal the ball or assist with double or triple team assignments.
He is one of four players — alongside Brancou Badio, Bruno Fernando and Mahamane Coulibaly — to be named in the 2025 AfroBasket All-Tournament Team.
Brancou Badio
Position: Point Guard Age: 27 Club: Valencia Basket Height: 188 cm / 6'2"
Badio of Senegal is a balanced point guard who knows when to step up the urgency and when to slow things down.
He can shoot three-pointers well. His backcourt partnership with teammate Boissy has also been successful for Senegal in the past. His leadership skills could also determine how far Senegal progress in the qualifiers..
Ehab Amin
Position: Point Guard Age: 30 Club: Al Ahly SC Height: 185 cm / 6'1"
Egypt is blessed with quality players, and Amin is one of those who has carved out a solid career for himself in the national team.
He gives Egypt an offensive edge and can be hard to stop when he gets going.
Following last year's disappointing exit from the AfroBasket quarter-finals, Amin will be looking to make amends and put in an even stronger performance in the World Cup qualifiers.
Bruno Fernando
Position: Power Forward/Center Age: 27 Club: Partizan Belgrade Height: 208 cm / 6'10"
Fernando showed his class at last year's AfroBasket, for which he was justly rewarded with an All-Star Five award. The forward knows what it takes to perform at the highest level.
He finishes and cleans up well at the rim, and any opponent who thinks they have the measure of Angola in the paint will soon discover that Fernando is the last line of defence.
The attributes he brings to the World Cup qualifiers are immense, and could help the Palancas Negras to a smooth first-round passage.
Mahamane Coulibaly
Position: Guard/Small forward Age: 25 Club: Jeunesse Club d'Abidjan Height: 193m/ 6'4"
Coulibaly made the most. of his Basketball Africa League debut in 2025, introducing himself to the world. to the world.

Coulibaly is regarded as a promising star in Malian basketball ranks thanks to his explosive offensive, eye-catching dunks and almost-unstoppable performance in one-on-one situations.
Jean Philippe Dally
Position: Forward Age: 29 Club: Saint Quentin Basket-Ball Height: 201 cm / 6'7"
Dally has been a gem since joining the Côte d'Ivoire set-up.
One of his most memorable moments came when he scored a putback, securing a one-point victory (82–81) for Côte d'Ivoire against Cape Verde.
With veterans Solo Diabaté and Vafessa Fofana potentially absent, Dally is expected to take on a leading role.
