Stretching back two decades, the list tips off with Russian legend Maria Stepanova in 2005 who was renowned as one of the world's best, followed by a FIBA Hall of Fame member in the shape of Spanish ace Amaya Valdemoro who excelled in 2007.

Evina Maltsi of Greece was so impressive in 2009 that she won MVP despite Greece settling for 5th place. Two years later, Elena Danilochkina delivered what still remains Russia's last golden moment.

It was then the Spain and Serbia show as the duo captured the next five successive titles. Sancho Lyttle, Alba Torrens and Astou Ndour getting it done in 2013, 2017 and 2019, with Ana Dabovic and Sonja Vasic fuelling Serbia's triumphs in 2015 and 2021.

Meanwhile it was Emma Meesseman who won at the last edition as she carried Belgium to a historic first ever title on a famous night in Ljubljana.
