    Teams

Belgium - Reigning champions, the Cats won their first-ever title at the last edition in 2023, led by MVP Emma Meesseman. They have a new coach in Mike Thibault and fine guard combo with Julie Allemand and Julie Vanloo.

Czechia - This year's co-hosts won their only title to date, exactly two decades ago. They have a nice mix of youth and experience with the likes of Emma Cechova and Petra Holesinska, while Julie Reisengerova is a colossus.

Montenegro - The smallest nation to ever appear, they extended their amazing appearance streak to eight editions despite a bumpy Qualifiers campaign. Punching above their weight, they're often dangerous at the big show.

Portugal - This will be the first time that Portugal have stepped out in the tournament. They're the only rookies at this edition after clinching their spot as one of the best-ranked second-placed teams in the Qualifiers.

Favorites: The current holders Belgium will be runaway favorites to finish in pole position and most likely with a perfect record as they'll be expected to roll past their opponents. It's not just about 2023 MVP Emma Meesseman making sure there are no bumps in the road, Belgium have a great core rotation and should come out flying.

Key matchup: If logic dictates Belgium will be winners and Portugal the underdogs, then Czechia and Montenegro looks to be absolutely crunch in a possible fight for second place and a second Quarter-Finals ticket. The athletic and strong Natasha Mack will be a go-to for Montenegro, while Julia Reisingerova is a towering figure for Czechia.

Underdogs: As first-timers, Portugal are the underdogs and they will land at the showpiece looking to write more history with their first ever win at the event. While they have no pedigree at the big table, they have a team capable of surprises as they showed in the Qualifiers when they beat Serbia. They will also feel this group holds few fears.

Emma Meesseman was the standout baller at the last edition two years ago when the Cats were champions

    Star: Emma Meesseman (BEL)

Having already assembled a stunning legacy, it would be no shock if the outstanding resume of Meesseman was enhanced even further with another medal at this edition. One of the best ballers in the women's game, this special talent is such a quality leader and the heartbeat of Belgium. She will make the clutch shots if the Cats need them.

    Rising star: Emma Cechova (CZE)

After catching the eye at the 2023 edition with exciting and impactful displays, the forward has since taken her game to new levels. She was on fire for much of the EuroLeague Women season and is making the switch to 2025 champions, ZVVZ USK Praha for the new campaign. Her length and wingspan in particular makes her a real asset.
