BRNO (CZECHIA) - Holders Belgium wrapped up top spot in Group C after they turned on the style with a super show against co-hosts Czechia, while Portugal made it a day to remember with a maiden victory.

With both teams unbeaten heading into this last day matchup, Czechia had no answer when Belgium turned up the heat after the break. It gave everyone a glimpse into why they still look on course for a possible replay of their 2023 title success.

Portugal meanwhile overcome Montenegro to put a positive on their group phase exit as they got off the mark by taking their first ever success in the competition at their rookie edition.

Belgium put on a five star show to go 10 in a row

Julie Allemand came close to a triple-double with a super display for the Cats

Belgium turned up the dial at FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 with a vibrant 72-60 victory against Czechia that pointed towards them having a great shot at retaining their title. After some first-half shooting woes from the arc, they got their offense rolling after the break and their inside-outside game was hard for Czechia to live with as the Cats made it 10 wins in a row in the competition.

Emma Meesseman took center stage as usual with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while playmaker Julie Allemand also led the show with 11 points, 9 boards and 8 assists.

History-makers Portugal finish on a positive

A precious landmark win is now in the books for Portugal.

Portugal will always remember FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 for being the first time they took to the big stage and they will remember it with even more good feeling after taking a first ever victory. They saw off Montenegro 63-49 to write a new historical chapter and give them the taste for wanting more trips to future tournaments.

The success was founded on some stunning three-point shooting as they proved to have too much firepower for their opponents who depart winless. Josephine Filipe chose a good time to produce one of her best ever efforts in a national team jersey as she made three shots from long-range en-route to 13 points, with Maria Bettencourt Correia scoring a team-high 15 points and Sofia Da Silva adding a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards.
