MUNICH (Germany) - There's only one guarantee when it comes to the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 and that's the number of top class players who will all light up the competition and get fans off their seats.
As with past editions, the flagship competition will be soaked with some of the best players in the women's game - all trying to take their respective teams to glory.
We've picked out 10 of the best to put on your watch-list.
Emma Meesseman - Belgium
Power Forward
Birth Date: May 13, 1993 Height: 1.93 (6ft 4in) 2024-25 Club: Fenerbahce Opet (TUR) There is no more fitting place to start than with the reigning MVP who was the inspiration behind Belgium's epic first title success in Ljubljana two years ago. Meesseman has become an iconic figure of the European game due to her incredible talent, achievements and leadership qualities. She will remain the centerpiece of a very good Cats team that will launch a strong title defense. She will take the clutch shots and be a towering presence defensively.
Iliana Rupert - France
Center
Birth Date: July 12, 2001 Height: 1.94 (6ft 4in) 2024-25 Club: CIMSA CBK Mersin (TUR) Still only 23-years-old, Rupert was already a leader for France, but now even more so at this edition with a number of key players missing. Mature beyond her years, it will be her smarts and composure that shine through alongside her imposing physical frame and ability to put points on the board. Coming off what has arguably been her best EuroLeague Women season, the center is on fire and capable of being the difference-maker for the frontrunners.
Leonie Fiebich - Germany
Guard/ Small Forward
Birth Date: January 10, 2000 Height: 1.92 (6ft 4in) 2024-25 Club: Valencia Basket Club (ESP) The rise of Fiebich in these past few years has been striking and impressive. She will step out for Germany with a big responsibility on her shoulders to carry the short-handed co-hosts through to the Quarter-Finals. Her height and versatility, combined with her ability to make shots from outside or create for others make her such a tough defensive assignment for opponents. She'll take and make big shots, so expect to see the ball in her hands in the biggest moments. She'll relish the role of being the go-to baller in what will be a great atmosphere in Hamburg.
Yvonne Anderson - Serbia
Guard
Birth Date: March 8, 1990 Height: 1.75 (5ft 9in) 2024-25 Club: CIMSA CBK Mersin (TUR) There will be few players at this year's edition with the kind of know-how and veteran expertise that Anderson can harness. A brilliant guard, she has become the heartbeat of Serbia and with her team blooding some new younger talents, Anderson's guidance will be precious. A defensive power, she will set the tone for one of the most key aspects of Serbia's strength. Offensively, she'll get downhill as much as possible and keep the scoreboard moving.
Raquel Carrera - Spain
Center
Birth Date: October 31, 2001 Height: 1.90 (6ft 3in) 2024-25 Club: Valencia Basket Club (ESP) Back after a long-time on the sideline with a serious injury, the presence of Carrera at the tournament will put a smile not only on the face of Spanish supporters, but basketball fans in general. Exceptional two years ago when making the Final in Ljubljana, that kind of repeat performance would be welcomed by her team. Her strength and mobility is tough to live with when playing in her highest gear and she could be central to Spain making a title bid.
Cecilia Zandalasini - Italy
Guard
Birth Date: March 6, 1996 Height: 1.86 (6ft 1in) 2024-25 Club: Galatasaray Cagdas Factoring (TUR) It was at the 2017 edition that the guard thrust herself onto the center of the women's basketball radar with one of the most memorable debuts ever from a debutante. Now experienced, Zandalasini remains Italy's key to success. She has the ability to make it rain from long-range, will kill you with a jump-shot and is always creating as well as scoring. It feels like Italy need her more than ever and she'll enjoy lighting it up for the home fans in Bologna.
Temi Fagbenle - Great Britain
Forward/ Center
Birth Date: September 8, 1992 Height: 1.93 (6ft 4in) 2024-25 Club: Besiktas JK (TUR) The captain of Great Britain and focal point, Fagbenle will again be a driving force for the underdogs. But the frontcourt star and the Brits have been here before. When written off at the 2019 edition, they made a famous and historic run to the Semi-Finals with their marquee star leading the tournament in scoring. Efficient and smart on the floor, her presence offensively and defensively is a must for her team to battle their way out of the group.
Mariella Fasoula - Greece
Center
Birth Date: September 2, 1997 Height: 1.92 (6ft 4in) 2024-25 Club: Perfumerias Avenida (ESP) A big chunk of the co-hosts' hopes of success will be placed on their prize center who is a fabulous player and has always brought the noise in a Hellas vest. If the first ambition of Greece is to at least make the Quarter-Finals which they are hosting in Piraeus, then Fasoula will need to be on top of her game as usual. Her size and quality is always stands out and she'll be particularly essential on defense, which is where her team always place their focus.
Teja Oblak - Slovenia
Guard
Birth Date: December 20, 1990 Height: 1.72 (5ft 8in) 2024-25 Club: ZVVZ USK Praha (CZE) Admired and respected across the continent for her leadership and ability to pull the strings at the highest level, Slovenia have a real role model as captain and one that could be a fundamental pillar of their best ever finish. Tipped by some to make a deep run if they get out of a tricky group phase, Oblak will direct traffic from point guard, continually mould and influence younger players, while also taking the responsibility to make big plays.
Teaira McCowan - Türkiye
Center
Birth Date: September 28, 1996 Height: 2.08 (6ft 8in) xzx 2024-25 Club: CIMSA CBK Mersin (TUR) Physically dominant and at times simply unguardable for many of her opponents who can't match up with her sheer size, McCowan will again be the player that puts up crazy numbers for Türkiye. A double-double is almost guaranteed whenever the center is on the floor and if she is feeling it and on-song, then there are few better in the paint. If she keeps her composure and locks in, expect her to be a tour de force again for her adopted country.
