BERLIN (Germany) - Five stellar talents have been named to the prestigious FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 All-Second Team after lighting it up for their respective nations in Berlin.
Emma Meesseman was as majestic as usual for fifth-placed Belgium. She harvested a huge performance efficiency valuation of 25.0 which was the highest in the competition. This was helped by finishing as the leading scorer in the tournament with 21.0 points per game, along with 8.0 boards and 4.8 assists.
Nyara Sabally was a powerful presence for host nation Germany who secured their best ever finish of fourth as they firstly reached the Quarter-Finals for the first time and then went one better by soaring into the Semi-Finals. The forward averaged 12.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Steph Talbot turned up the dial in a big way for injury-ravaged Australia and helped them into the Quarter-Finals with an array of standout displays. Amazingly, the veteran guard led the Opals in all the main categories including efficiency at 21.0 per game, harvested from 13.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals per outing.
China made the Quarter-Final behind some breathtaking contributions from star center, Xu Han. She amassed a superb tournament double-double of 18.8 points and 10.8 rebounds - as well as dishing out 2.0 dimes per game.
There is also a spot in the lineup for Janelle Salan, who was instrumental in helping France reach the Final of the competition for the first time. The forward averaged 11.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while posting an average efficiency rating of 15.3.
