BENGALURU (India) - Cheongju KB turned in a triumphant FIBA Women's Basketball League Asia 2026 debut by dominating the Indian Railways, 81-42, on Wednesday night at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium.

The reigning WKBL champions rolled to a 20-8 start and was all they needed to set up the rout, eventually completing half of the Semi-Finals cast as the two teams qualifying from Group B have been assured.

By keeping the host team listless, the Stars have given the Denso Iris a free ride to the next phase set this Saturday, October 24 - the Japanese team walloped the same opponent some 24 hours ago, 119-35.

With that, the Korean ball club and their W League counterparts will be squaring off for the no. 1 spot in the pool tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, in the final game of the Group Phase. Tipoff is set at 19:00 local time.

All of the Stars scored in the overwhelming victory, with Na Yunjeong showing the way with 18 points, all of which she collected from beyond the arc as she knocked down 6 of the team's 16 triples in the contest.

Song Yunha came close to a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds, while Yoon Yebin chipped in 10 points for Cheongju.
