BRAZZAVILLE (Congo) - Cameroon's Forces Armées et Police (FAP) recorded their second victory to finish second in Group B and advance. Their compatriots, Overdose Up Station, secured their first win in Group A.
Here's how day three's action unfolded:
CNSS triumph over relentless Charbo Squad to advance
In a game of runs, Congo DR's CNSS defeated Charbo Squad 69-40 to remain undefeated as they head to the semi-finals, where they will face Cameroon's Overdose Up Station on Tuesday. After five opening minutes of back-and-forth play, with the Gabonese side leading once at 5–4, CNSS went on a 14–1 run to take control of the game, winning the opening quarter 19–6.
This strong start provided a valuable cushion for the Congolese in the second quarter, when Charbo mounted a comeback and won the period 16-11, reducing their deficit to single digits (30-22) at halftime.
CNSS's 10-2 run in the opening four minutes of the second half all but settled the match, and they went on to hold Charbo Squad to 23-7, leading 53-29 heading into the final period. They secured the win with a 16-11 fourth quarter.
Deborah Kaba Mayimona anchored CNSS on both ends of the court, finishing with a double-double after scoring 13 points and pulling down a game-high 20 rebounds, setting the tone for her team's defence.
Her four steals contributed to her efficiency rating of 30.
She was complemented in her efforts by Djelika Tounkara, who scored 14 points, had five rebounds, made four assists and stole the ball three times in 32:24 minutes.
Meanwhile, Gemina Mabwa missed the double-digit mark by one point, adding six rebounds and four assists. Ketia Mbelu came two rebounds and assists shy of a rare double-double.
FAP silence Inter Club to get back to winning ways
After losing to CNSS in Game Day Two, Cameroon's FAP made a strong comeback in their final Group Phase match against InterClub, achieving a dominant victory of 100–36 to advance to the semi-finals as the second-best team in Group B.
The clash was one-sided from the outset, with the Cameroonians racing to a 10–0 lead in the opening three minutes — a clear statement of intent.
Following a dominant 30-10 start, Ange Majolie Lonteu's team further solidified their lead with a 30-4 second quarter, rendering the second half inconsequential.
InterClub played their best basketball in the final quarter, taking advantage of coach Lonteu's garbage time to win 12–10.
Damaris Emédié anchored FAP, finishing with a double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds in just under 22 minutes.
Bintou Dramé added 21 points and four assists. Michelle Noelle Nkolo also reached double figures in points, scoring 15, but missed out on a double-double by three rebounds.
FAP capitalised on InterClub's 58 turnovers to score half of their points (49), while the latter was unable to convert their 23 turnovers into any meaningful contribution, scoring only three points off them.
Overdose Up Station through to the semis
Cameroon's Overdose Up Station had hoped to secure their first victory in Group A against Anges Noirs Bantous (ANBC), having lost to ASB Hatari in their opening match. This would have put them through to the semi-finals.
While they secured their place in the last four, it was through a surprising walkover, as the home side ANBC did not take to the court.
