    Season 4 taking shape

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Monday, September 15, has confirmed the date of the highly anticipated draw for the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) 2025-26 competitions.

To be streamed via FIBA's official YouTube channel, the proceedings are set on Thursday, September 18, as the fourth season of the pan-regional competition, owned and operated by FIBA, is taking shape.

Representatives of all participating ball clubs are expected to attend virtually as they are all looking forward to seeing how their paths toward glory would look beginning in the Group Phase.

A total of 14 teams will compete in the upcoming season, with defending two-time WASL champions Al Riyadi bannering WASL-West Asia League in which they are also the reigning three-time titlists.

The Yellow Castle will be joined by fellow Lebanese side Sagesse SC in a six-team field that also features comebacking sides Shahrdari Gorgan of Iran, Syria's Al Wahda SC, and Iraqi club Al Difaa Al Jawi.

Eight teams, on the other hand, make up the WASL-Gulf League, headlined by reigning Sub-Zone League champions Shabab Al Ahli of UAE and Saudi Arabia's Ittihad Club, runners-up of last season.

Two-time WASL-Gulf League winners Kuwait Club and Kazma are in the fold again as well as Al Arabi SC of Qatar and Bahrain's Muharraq, with Al Ula and Al Sharjah the newcomers from Saudi Arabia and UAE, respectively.

The FIBA WASL 2025-26 season tips off on October 13.
